Baptism

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

We welcome you as family of the St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Baptism is a Sacrament of Initiation.

Parents and godparents whose children are to be baptized must attend a Baptismal class (third Saturday of each month; 10:00 am) to reflect on the responsibilities they undertake when baptizing their children.

Although all sacraments administered by the Catholic Church are free, a minimum donation of:

$50 For registered Members (at least 6 months) and contributors

$70 For those who are not registered, but live near the Parish

$100 For those who live outside the Parish area

Baptism Form

Community baptisms are on the fourth Sunday of each month at 12:00 noon.
You need to present the child's birth certificate.
The godparents must present the church marriage certificate (if applicable), and if they are single, present the Confirmation certificate.
It is mandatory that parents and godparents attend the pre-baptismal class. Class is the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 am.
It's not allowed to bring children to this class.
All documents must be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance

1- The godparents are chosen by the parents of the candidate (Can 874.1)
2- The godparents must be practicing Catholics (Can.874.1)
3- They must have all the sacraments - Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation (Can 874.1.3, 874.1.4, 874.1.5)
4- If the godfather or godmother are married it has to be through the church.
5- They must have been over 16 years old (Can.874.1.2)
6- The godparents cannot be the candidate's parents, nor the adoptive parents.
7- They cannot be godparents if they do not have the intention of fulfilling the obligations that our Catholic Church demands.
8- Godparents cannot be people who have been excommunicated by the Catholic Church
