PREPARATION
The Catechism of the Catholic Church Teaches:
''The parents are the primary responsibility for the education of their children. They testify to this responsibility above all by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and selfless service are the norm. The home is an appropriate place for the education of virtues. Education in faith by parents should begin from the earliest childhood. This education is already taking place when family members help each other grow in faith through the witness of a Christian life in accordance with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of teaching the faith. Parents have the mission to teach their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God.''
Additionally, a large part of the preparation is to regularly attend Sunday Mass. When your children were baptized, you promised to raise them in the Catholic faith. The center of our Christian faith is the Eucharist. The religious formation of children is the most valuable gift they can receive, and that means celebrating the Eucharist together as a parish.
